Join Erin for three days painting out of doors in Big Sur.
Plein Air painting creates a discipline of seeing and rendering on site that can inform all your other painting methods and styles. If you see plein air method as strictly an exercise in depicting the landscape, join Erin for this three day workshop where together you’ll explore methods of seeing the whole and rendering the essential that will bring your canvas to life in celebration of the majesty of Big Sur.
Two Day Registration - One Day Registration –Together we will spend three days in studio and in the field organizing our materials, working with exercises and exploring unique spots on the Big Sur coast where you will be encouraged to explore your personal vision and technique, and craft paintings that celebrate the landscape, not just depict it.
For this workshop participants can work in oil or acrylic, so participants should have a full set of colors and brushes along with materials and supplies and an easel that can be transported easily. Please contact me for a full supply list.
This workshop will be limited to fifteen participants. Afternoon snack will be provided.
Workshop takes place rain or shine, with studio work in case of inclement weather.
